Be Honest To Your Mover

Be Honest To Your Removal Company
Most Movers will arrange a visit to your home to do an on site estimate and check of all items required to be moved. Sometimes the clients are asked to complete a predefined inventory sheet and forward back to their Removals Company. The Mover then uses this data to work out the size of the job – size of the truck needed to do the move, the amount of man power and a finally a price. All without actually visiting the property.

This last option is often more convenient for people who are extremely busy leading up to the time of their expected moving date, since they would have to be present during the visit.
No matter which method is used to create your quote, it is important to explain your requirements completely to your Removal Company. Some people honestly forget some small detail such as items in a small loft or cupboard under the steps. But it is not so easy to explain forgetting to tell the Removal Company you are on the 5th floor without any access to a lift or a garage and shed full of stuff you have collected over the past decade.

If not taken into consideration when the initial estimate was being done these added items can often spell a disaster for your planned move. As the Mover will turn up with a lorry that is too small to move all your stuff.
When they would have charged you a little bit more initially to move all these items with a bigger lorry and more man power, now they will charge more because then the Mover will have to make last minute on the day arrangements. Or leave the undeclared stuff all together.
The best option is to be very specific and precise about what you need them to do and declare all stuff to be moved and dismantled. This article was written by Ken Simms - www.10freequotes.co.uk
